Bill of Lading (B/L); the document that certifies that the goods (car) is loaded and shipped.

Commercial Invoice; shows the price (value) of goods (car) for customs.

Export Certificate (De-registration Certificate); shows specification of the car such as chassis and engine number, production year, weight, dimension, etc.

It is determined by the size of the car. [ Length x Width x Height = Cubic volume]

The larger the car you buy, the more freight charge you pay.

On a container ship (a car is loaded inside a container) or on a RoRo ship (Roll on, Roll off ship, exclusively designed for cars)

* Container or RoRo will be determined mainly by availability of spaces and time schedule.

From the motor pool onto the ship, Al-shujah Motors Japan and its affiliates will take care of everything including necessary documentations.
Al-shujah Motors Japan always try to ship on the first available ship. However, it depends on the availability of space, frequency of service, etc.

The distance to the final destination port is another factor.

So, very roughly speaking you’d better expect one to two months after remittance of the payment.

Buyer is responsible for clearing customs and import duties, etc. if applicable at the port of final destination.
FOB stands for Free on Board. FOB covers the cost of your car only. FOB doesn’t cover freight and insurance.
CIF stands for cost (of your car), insurance and freight. CIF covers cost, freight and insurance.
C&F stands for cost and freight. C&F doesn’t cover insurance.
Consignee is the person (or a party) who is entitled to receive the goods (car)
Shipper is a person (or a party) who ships out the goods (car) to the consignee.
Notify party is a person (or a party) who receive the goods (car) on behalf of consignee.
Ro-Ro stands for roll on and roll off. This term is used for a ship solely designed to carry cars.

Availability of Ro-Ro shipment is limited to major ports only.

In case of container shipment, cars are loaded inside the containers first, and then the containers will be loaded on the container ship.

Container shipment covers almost all international sea ports in the world.
